A great start to the rugby season with Durlston travelling to FSM to take on FSM, EMbley and Clayesmore
Each game the team improved, especially their willingness to tackle. The team starting to understand the need to spread out and take their turn but this was often the reason we lost possession of the ball. Teamwork is key and team success over individual scoring is what we need to work towards.
A.Derbyshire was the top tackler of the day making numerous tackles including 3 in a row verses Clayesmore. T.Watts was dynamic in attack weaving through the opponents to score many tries as well as O.Sexton-Chadwick using her strength and perseverance to power over. T.Ford was an organiser in defense and understood the breakdown better then others, slowing the play and making sure the team were ready. T.Jones was enthusiastic and enjoyed a couple of runs forward, learning a lot from his experiences across the games. B.Heard was adventurous in attack, trying to avoid tackles and passing the ball on well to others. N.Hermon was a threat every time he got the ball scoring several tries. O.Watson, worked hard and enjoyed the experience as did H.Jacobson who ran with speed and purpose scoring lots of tires. A.Miller made a couple of good tackles and ran well when he got the ball
